Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) -

Essential Functions

• Give allergy injections and mix allergen serums
• Perform patient triage (weight, blood pressure, temperature readings, update medication list, obtain and document chief complaint)
• Handle electronic patient prescription services, communicate with pharmacies, verify medical prescriptions, and maintain knowledge of EMR
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs
• Answer telephones, screen calls, retrieve voicemails, return patient calls
• Manage precertification requirements for all procedures
• Contact patients regarding lab results
• Maintain daily logs
• Inform patients about appointments and test procedures and provide education on pre-procedure preparations
• Schedule procedures and certain medical tests and referral appointments, coordinate and reschedule as needed
• Auxiliary duties as directed
• Knowledgeable of nursing principles, protocols, medication names, and prescribing, infection control, environmental safety, patient confidentiality (HIPAA standards), medical chart reporting and records
• Attend meetings as required

Mental/Physical Requirements

• Daily standing, walking, squatting, bending, and maneuvering
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds
• Stress can be triggered by workload and difficult patterns
