Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within the scope of your license.
• This includes various forms of medication administration and treatments such as wound care, tracheostomy care, and catheter care.
• Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments.
• Ensure an adequate supply of medications and other necessary supplies are available.
• Communicate vital information regarding residents' medical, social, and functional needs.
• Participate in shift reports and communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure comprehensive care.
• Complete initial nursing assessments for newly admitted residents.
• Aid in the development of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, quarterly reviews, and care plans.
• Maintain clinical and administrative documentation regarding residents' diagnoses, treatments, and progress.
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings.

Requirements

• Understanding of gerontological and geriatric nursing theory and practice.
• Knowledge of the effects of the aging process and team nursing practices.
• Familiarity with pharmacology, medication practices, and relevant laws and regulations.
• Skills in observing and reporting resident behavior and progress.
• Ability to assist in developing and implementing patient care plans within a team nursing concept.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
• Flexible/Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
