Licensed Practical Nurse
Part-time position with the Minnesota Department of Corrections, located in Stillwater. This role is designated as unlimited and classified, with a salary range of $28.01 - $35.83 per hour. The work schedule includes rotating day/evening shifts, some weekends, and holidays, with at least 64 hours per two-week pay period. Additional hours may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities
- Assist practitioners and Registered Nurses in providing healthcare to incarcerated individuals.
- Perform "rooming" duties, including obtaining vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, weight) and documenting complaints.
- Conduct phlebotomy functions, such as collecting blood and urine samples and performing tests as ordered by practitioners.
- Manage Blood Pressure Clinic and other chronic care clinics for incarcerated individuals.
- Administer medications as prescribed by practitioners.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved school of nursing and current, unrestricted licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse.
- Computer experience sufficient for electronic charting and basic functions like email.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on clinical nursing experience in a hospital, long-term care, or clinic setting.
- Nursing experience in a correctional or secured environment.
- Experience working in a correctional or secured setting.
- Specialized clinical nursing experience in areas such as gender-specific care, geriatrics, juvenile health, medical/surgical units, or behavioral health.
Physical Requirements
- Completion of pre-placement physical components, including tuberculosis screening and/or respirator clearance, may be required.
- Selected finalist must review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position.

- Top candidate(s) will undergo a criminal history check, including verification of sentencing/restitution compliance, employment history/reference checks, and review of job performance/discipline records.
- New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
