Licensed Practical Nurse - Acute MedSurgical A - Full Time

About the role

The incumbent provides professional nursing care to clinic patients under supervision. They work collaboratively with providers to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care to patients.
• Administers treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Aids providers during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Observes, records, and reports patients' condition and reactions to drugs or treatments to providers.
• Maintains timely flow of patients.
• Greets patients and obtains well-documented history and vitals.
• Prepares patients for physical exams.
• Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
• May perform various tasks such as obtaining vital signs, performing assessments, coordinating patient transfers, and more, depending on training and scope of practice.
• Responds to incoming calls and administers refills and prescriptions to pharmacy.
• Formulates and updates patient care plans.
• Orders, prepares, and inspects patient charts.
• Posts tests and examination results.
• Reviews patient's tests and examination results with providers and documents the same.

Requirements

Must have a valid state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
