About the role

The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition, establishing the store as the premier destination for vision needs. You will create exceptional value for customers through legendary service and perfectly crafted, high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and set clear expectations.
• Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Act as a leader in optical expertise, taking and recording measurements, adjusting and fitting eyewear, and ensuring finished products meet standards and customer needs.
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume; demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and proper tool use.
• Proactively explore root causes of issues, ensure customer satisfaction, and exceed expectations with solution-driven approaches.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively with competing demands.
• Strive for exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
• Maintain store appearance, keeping it clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure for optical dispensing.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills: communication, listening, and teamwork.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills, including ability to use an iPad/tablet.
• Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators.
• Embrace new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience.

Pay

Pay range: $23.97 - $37.39 per hour. Employee pay is determined by factors including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. A competitive bonus and/or commission plan may complement the base pay.
