About the role

The New Hampshire Veterans Home has full-time vacancies for Licensed Nursing Assistant Students.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Maintains proper dietary intake and hydration
• Supports mobility by helping residents move between beds and wheelchairs
• Ensures residents’ comfort and dignity
• Monitors and records vital signs and food/liquid intake
• Prepares residents for appointments and medical team consults
• Provides security/support for the resident
• Attends and participates in in-service educational programs
• Responds to supervision and works cooperatively with others

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent credential
• NH Nursing Assistant license
• Drivers license
• May be required to work non-traditional work hours
• Physical stamina for prolonged standing and performing tasks such as lifting, transferring, and transporting residents and materials

Qualifications

• Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education
• Experience in long-term or geriatric care setting or other role involved in the provision of medical care
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• CPR and First Aid certification
