About the role
The New Hampshire Veterans Home has full-time vacancies for Licensed Nursing Assistant Students.
Responsibilities
- Assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Maintains proper dietary intake and hydration
- Supports mobility by helping residents move between beds and wheelchairs
- Ensures residents’ comfort and dignity
- Monitors and records vital signs and food/liquid intake
- Prepares residents for appointments and medical team consults
- Provides security/support for the resident
- Attends and participates in in-service educational programs
- Responds to supervision and works cooperatively with others
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent credential
- NH Nursing Assistant license
- Drivers license
- May be required to work non-traditional work hours
- Physical stamina for prolonged standing and performing tasks such as lifting, transferring, and transporting residents and materials
Qualifications
- Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education
- Experience in long-term or geriatric care setting or other role involved in the provision of medical care
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR and First Aid certification
