Licensed Creative Art Therapist - LCAT
Schedule: Full Time, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00AM-5:00PM; Monday 12:00PM-8:00PM
About the Role
A Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for providing a variety of therapeutic services to a diverse population using art, music, movement, and/or drama to enhance the emotional and mental wellbeing of individuals. As a member of therapeutic services, the Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for the assessment, treatment planning, and documentation of assigned clients as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the interdisciplinary treatment team meeting and development of the treatment plan as it relates to the use of creative arts and therapeutic rehabilitation services.
- Demonstrate competency in the use of materials/modalities to facilitate self-expression, healing, and enhance function.
- Demonstrate professional competency in group and individual therapies.
- Assist with department Performance Improvement activities.
- Identify areas of needed training and development specific to Creative Arts practice.
- Demonstrate awareness of evidence-based practices in creative arts and related fields.
- Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapy.
- New York State license required or limited permit.
- Completed an internship in a behavioral health setting or previous work experience in a behavioral health setting.
