Responsibilities

• Administers road test examination in all of the following class vehicles: Class A (any combination of vehicles with GVWR of 26,001 pounds provided the GVWR of vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds); Class B (any single unit vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such towing vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds); Class C (any single unit vehicle or combination of vehicles that does not meet the definition of A or B, but that is either designed to transport 16 or more passengers including the driver or is placarded for hazardous materials); Class D (passenger vehicles and all non-commercial vehicles that do not exceed 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight); Class E (non-commercial single unit vehicles and all non-commercial vehicles that do not exceed 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight); Class F (non-commercial combination vehicles that exceed 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight); Class M (motorcycles and CDL's if in a CDL Office)
• Determines applicant's physical and mental fitness and competency to safely operate motor vehicles.
• Administers written, oral and automated examinations to determine applicant's knowledge of laws and driving procedures.
