About the role

This position is responsible for coordinating medical licensure for providers recruited and contracted with TeamHealth Emergency Medicine Northeast and Midwest Groups. Responsibilities

  • Establish working relationships with internal and external personnel to facilitate new licensure, renewal licensure, and reinstatement licensure for contracted providers.
  • Maintain familiarity with trends in medical licensing requirements.
  • Initiate contact with licensing boards and providers to begin the licensing process.
  • Complete medical licensing applications with all known information on behalf of providers and send applications to providers with detailed instructions for completion.
  • Process verification requests using the most expeditious service available.
  • Maintain accurate records of licensure progress and generate reports as needed or requested.
  • Maintain accurate records of licensure expenses using approved databases or spreadsheets.
  • Work directly with accounting personnel to obtain funds for verification and licensure fees in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in TeamWorks.
  • Communicate with departments, personnel, and providers in a timely manner to keep all parties informed of licensure progress.
  • Provide consultation to providers processing their own license applications.
  • Participate in an integrated work team, including attending team-related meetings, developing and implementing goals, and supporting corporate decisions.
  • Follow team norms and guidelines for communication, production, efficiency, conflict resolution, and interpersonal relations.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience in a licensing, credentialing, or other medical service-related position requiring attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Experience with State and Regulatory agency requirements as they relate to licensure and credentialing guidelines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in performing duties.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Assertive and confident communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage confidential data.
