Responsibilities

  • Sort and shelve library material
  • Maintain an orderly appearance of the library
  • Create and prepare arts and crafts
  • Circulation tasks: check-in, check out, new patron registrations
  • Answer patron questions in person and over the phone
  • Retrive materials from storage
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Be a high school student or equivalent
  • Able to sort items alphabetically and numerically
  • Interested in reading and learning about children’s books
  • Organized and meticulous
  • Friendly, outgoing, and able to work with people
  • Eager to learn from and with others
  • Able to follow multiple-step directions
  • Be able to push or pull carts, bend or squat, lift (up to 40 lbs.), stretch, and stand for extended periods

Qualifications

  • Schedule: Must work Saturdays 9 AM - 2 PM, Wednesday afternoon/evening, and Monday/Friday afternoons
  • If the decision is made to open on Sundays, you will be expected to work 1 PM - 5 PM as part of the regular rotation
  • Closing Date: July 17, 2026, or until the position is filled
  • Salary: $13.50 to start, 6-14 hours per week
