Responsibilities
- Sort and shelve library material
- Maintain an orderly appearance of the library
- Create and prepare arts and crafts
- Circulation tasks: check-in, check out, new patron registrations
- Answer patron questions in person and over the phone
- Retrive materials from storage
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Be a high school student or equivalent
- Able to sort items alphabetically and numerically
- Interested in reading and learning about children’s books
- Organized and meticulous
- Friendly, outgoing, and able to work with people
- Eager to learn from and with others
- Able to follow multiple-step directions
- Be able to push or pull carts, bend or squat, lift (up to 40 lbs.), stretch, and stand for extended periods
Qualifications
- Schedule: Must work Saturdays 9 AM - 2 PM, Wednesday afternoon/evening, and Monday/Friday afternoons
- If the decision is made to open on Sundays, you will be expected to work 1 PM - 5 PM as part of the regular rotation
- Closing Date: July 17, 2026, or until the position is filled
- Salary: $13.50 to start, 6-14 hours per week
