Library Aide- Part Time

Job Information

Open to any current regular Municipal employee working within the Health & Human Services Department. This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation).

Example of Duties

• Assist Program Manager with direction and management of the Disease Prevention and Control program.
• Supervise assigned staff.
• Perform clinical services related to immunizations, TB prevention and control, and Epidemiological investigation and follow-up.
• Work with Program Manager, department supervisors, staff, state and community agencies in assessing community health needs, planning and implementing community health nursing intervention strategies.
• Plan and participate in emergency preparedness training and response activities.
• Congduct and/or facilitate educational trainings on OSHA, Bloodborne pathogens, and TB Control issues.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and two years of applicable community or public health experience in the specialty areas assigned.
• Must have a State of Alaska Registered Nurse License (in order to be considered a copy of the license must be attached to the application).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• A Master’s degree in nursing, nutrition, public health, social work, or related field may substitute for the applicable experience on a year for year basis.

Additional Important Information

• Knowledge of and ability to operate a computer, laptop, fax, calculator, shredder, copier, A/V equipment, medical equipment: scales, hemocue, blood pressure, microscope, retractable safety devices, and AED.
• Prefer experience using electronic medical records.
