Position Summary

The Part-time Library Assistant delivers a high level of quality library services ensuring the provision of value-added experiences for all customers and performs routine tasks in support of the library.

Essential Functions

  • Promote the library’s collection and services
  • Perform circulation activities
  • Provide service desk coverage
  • Provide materials to appropriate bins for transfer
  • Provide research assistance to customers
  • Utilize integrated library systems software
  • Affixing training and assisting customers on various library policies, procedures, and processes
  • Collaborate with Librarians to deliver programming and outreach services
  • Affixing assistance with volunteer management
  • Perform shelving and weeding duties

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of one year of customer service experience including library or retail.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?
  • Yes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of integrated library systems software
  • Face to face customer service
  • Spanish speaking bilingual
