Library Building Mnt Tech

Responsibilities

• Performs basic repairs and maintenance on interior and exterior of library facilities.
• Performs maintenance on building fixtures and equipment.
• Performs basic painting, carpentry, plumbing, and tree trimming.
• Delivers, moves, and assembles furniture.
• Installs minor electrical systems and changes light bulbs.
• Unclogs plumbing stoppages.
• Installs or moves wall partitions or floor coverings.
• Replaces filters and belts in building equipment.
• Adjusts locks and makes duplicate keys as needed.
• Picks up and delivers equipment and supplies across the city when needed.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment.
• Refers all work requiring a fully skilled electrician, carpenter, painter, plumber, mason, etc.
• Performs various other semi-skilled building maintenance and groundskeeping duties.
• May performs simple preventative maintenance on library vehicles.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years' experience in general building maintenance.
• Any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential functions.
• Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license as a condition of continued employment.
• General electrical, plumbing, or other basic craft experience preferred.
