Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards, policies, and procedures. They uphold Kaiser Permanente’s policies and demonstrate leadership, accountability, and professionalism.

About the Role

Provides comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process. Manages patient care activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of practice. Participates in performance improvement activities and fosters a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately and demonstrating accountability.
• Develops and implements individualized patient care plans, ensuring multidisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
• Maintains patient safety by adhering to the five rights of medication administration, preventing falls, and managing infection risks.
• Monitors patient progress, revises care plans as needed, and ensures effective discharge planning.
• Communicates effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers, documenting care accurately and efficiently using electronic health records.
• Participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and shares responsibility for team performance.

Requirements

• 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, or home health/palliative/hospice care.
• Registered Nurse License (California).
• Pediatric Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Certification or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Provider Certification.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Recent (within the past 3 years) PICC insertion experience may be required.
