Registered Nurse III - Cancer Center Infusion - 12 - Beverly Hills, CA

About the role

As a Clinical Nurse III, you will deliver direct care to assigned adult and/or pediatric patients in an ambulatory setting. Nursing care is delivered using standards of care by following approved policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer Chemotherapy and other Oncology Infusion Treatments
• Assesses appropriately patient care needs and learning needs in routine adult and geriatric populations.
• Uses new knowledge in routine and less complex patient situations.
• Demonstrates advanced assessment skills, integrating appropriate data sources to assess the signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics.
• Plans patient care and education based on disease process, anticipated patient outcomes, complications of treatment, and psycho-social needs in collaboration with team members.
• Utilizes effective time management to complete all assignments in a timely manner to ensure safety of patients.
• Demonstrates competency in use of technical skills as required (i.e., IV therapy equipment utilization, universal precautions, body mechanics).
• Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring to maintain or improve care of designated patient population.
• When assigned charge nurse responsibility, coordinates unit activity throughout the shift, including the authorization of incidental overtime, initiates chain of command as appropriate.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. BSN preferred.
• License/Certifications: Current, unrestricted California RN License required. BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. ONS Chemo Bio certification preferred. OCN certification required or willing to obtain within one year from start date.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required. Chemotherapy Infusion Experience Strongly Desired. Oncology nursing experience preferred.
