Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards, policies, and procedures. The role involves demonstrating leadership, flexibility, and adherence to organizational vision and regulations.

Works within Kaiser Permanente’s framework, adhering to policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. Manages the health care team, delegates tasks, and supports the growth and development of team members.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks and holding team members accountable for performance.
• Escalates issues as necessary and collaborates with other departments to resolve problems.
• Mentors and coaches team members, sharing responsibilities and authority.
• Develops and implements individualized plans of care, ensuring multidisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
• Maintains patient safety by monitoring progress, revising plans as needed, and ensuring optimal pain control.
• Documents accurately and efficiently, reflecting the nursing process and interventions.
• Communicates effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss patient findings and progress.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and shares responsibility for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, or home health/palliative/hospice care.
• Registered Nurse License (California).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• ICPIC didactic course and recent (within the past 3 years) PICC insertion experience may be required.
• If administering chemotherapy, a current ONS Provider Card or APHON is required.
