About the Role
As a Technician II at Easy Ice, you’ll be a vital member of our service team, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of ice machines through proficient installation, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This dynamic position is ideal for a creative, resourceful, and high-energy individual who thrives in service-oriented and customer-facing situations. You’ll focus on maximizing equipment lifespan, minimizing service calls and emergency ice purchases, and enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional service that fosters positive relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction with both service quality and ice machine performance.
- Perform thorough installation, repair, maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of ice machines to improve performance and longevity, reducing service calls and emergency ice purchases.
- Lead the installation process, exceeding customer expectations with accurate, timely, and efficient equipment setup.
- Accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues on the first visit, minimizing customer downtime.
- Achieve or exceed performance metrics related to service response times, resolution rates, and customer feedback.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work schedules and adapt to changing operational demands while seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Train and mentor less senior technicians as required.
- Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to ensure timely completion of work orders per Easy Ice standard operating procedures.
- Accurately document all actions performed during service visits, including photos, forms, reports, and logs.
- Ensure proper truck stock at all times to avoid unnecessary return trips and service delays.
- Manage the pickup and delivery of ice as needed for service calls, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Facilitate accurate payments from customers and assist in equipment shutdown or removal when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and ensure vehicle cleanliness and organization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); vocational/technical training preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in the diagnosis and repair of commercial equipment (e.g., refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, ice machines, or related equipment).
- EPA 2 Certification.
- Working knowledge of mobile tools and applications.
- Ability to demonstrate volt meter operations.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, including a rotating on-call schedule.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing repair and maintenance issues.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure timely service call completion.
- Skills in maintaining organized records and documentation of service activities.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, use of ladders, and handling of tools and equipment.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 75 pounds.
- Extended periods of standing (6+ hours per day).
- Exposure to elevated noise levels in the work environment.
- Driving a vehicle for up to 60% of working hours.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.
