Level 1 Lab Technician

Position is hourly, work-study eligible, located on the Ogden, UT campus. 20 hours per week, 12 months per year.

About the role

The Level 1 Lab Technician maintains and supports computers, printers, and other technology equipment in the Open Student Computer Labs across nine locations on Weber State’s Ogden and Davis campuses. The technician provides technical support to lab employees and staff via Discord, email, phone, and receives direction from the Technical Support Manager and Lead Technician.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues on Windows PCs, Macs, and printers.
• Collaborate with peers to develop and implement coding solutions aligned with university and lab needs.
• Image Windows PC and Mac computers.
• Apply weekly software updates to lab computers.

Requirements

• Current full-time or part-time WSU student.
• Customer service experience.
• Basic understanding of modern computing standards, including hardware, operating systems, networking, and coding practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical support experience.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $12.50.
