Lab Technician, Level 1
Position Responsibilities
- Set-up and perform both routine and non-routine lab tests according to specifications.
- Prepare test unit/model for testing, making alterations as needed.
- Record data (manually or electronically) and assist in summarization of data for reports and filing.
- Perform minor maintenance on test rooms and equipment as assigned.
- Absorb and assist in cleanup of work area and equipment as assigned.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Nature & Scope
Works within well-defined instructions. Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks. Work is closely supervised.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of HVAC safety and governing standards preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC System and its components.
- Good brazing skills required (in-house braze training required).
- Hands-on or mechanically inclined.
- Begineer level computer skills - Microsoft Office-Excel and Outlook.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience
0-3 years’ experience lab technician experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education/Certification
- High School diploma or GED.
- EPA 608 certification required or obtain one within 3 months of start date.
People Management

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Daily use of computer.
- May be exposure to relatively high and low temperatures for a short period of times when accessing test rooms.
- Light physical effort required in working with materials and/or equipment.
- May involve considerable walking and/or standing or may be physically confined to an area due to testing or equipment demands.
