Lending Processor - Direct II

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Process and disburse consumer loans based on stipulations added to a loan decision. Answer calls from members, branch member service representatives, and contact center lending advisors. Contact approved members to close loans and meet growth goals. Review loan requests and validate information for disbursement. Sell ancillary products and make recommendations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inform, educate, and advise members about loan decisions and next steps.
• Discuss additional products and services with members.
• Ensure complete knowledge of required loan documents, systems, and credit reports.
• Stay updated on procedures, policies, and system changes.
• Support branch, resolution, and contact center staff with loan product, procedure, and policy information.
• Review loan terms with members to ensure accuracy and obtain acceptance.
• Contact dealers, lienholders, and private sellers to provide accurate information.
• Ensure proper loan terms and documentation are accurate before disbursement.
• Evaluate member's income statements to verify income.
• Communicate regularly with applicants according to member contact guidelines.
• Fund all VACU consumer loans, including vehicle, credit card, personal, share secured, workout, and personal line of credit.
• Ensure proper title requirements and paperwork for all states.
• Answer incoming calls and process inbound/outbound documentation.
• Verify stipulations are met before closing loans.
• Educate and sell ancillary products for assigned loans.
• Avoid discrepancies and ensure loans are signed and compliant with guidelines and regulations.
• Utilize electronic signature method for loan disbursements.
• Guide members to use electronic signatures instead of visiting a branch.
• Act as a mentor to new hires, providing support during training.
• Test loan system enhancements and changes, providing feedback.
• Disburse consumer loans in accordance with VACU policy and procedures.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations.
• Stay updated on all required loan documents, systems, credit reports, and related lending documents.
• Comply with all published enterprise level policies and procedures, including BSA, OFAC, and Information Security.
• Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.

EXPECTATIONS

• Show detailed knowledge of consumer loan policies, procedures, workflows, and guidelines.
• Act as a subject matter expert in consumer loan products, policies, and procedures.
• Work independently and with teams to support and achieve credit union initiatives.
• Manage assigned loan queues based on member contact guidelines.
• Contribute to individual, team, and company goals while promoting team spirit.
• Make suggestions to improve department efficiency, documentation requirements, and service to members.
• Accommodate flexible schedules including Saturdays, overtime, and extended hours.
• Adhere to work schedule, including breaks and lunch.
• Perform work under minimal supervision.
• Have a minimum of 12 months lending experience at VACU with no formal progressive discipline in the past 6 months.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High school degree required. College degree preferred.
• Experience and Knowledge: Experience in contact center, lending, and member service areas preferred. Prior experience in financial products and services is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent PC knowledge, ability to learn new operating systems, strong organizational and follow-up skills, and flexibility to change.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 10 pounds occasionally, speak clearly, and see clearly with reasonable accommodation.
