About the role

The Lending Officer is primarily responsible for retaining and developing new and existing 1-4 family loan relationships with the brokerage sector. This role manages all third-party loan referrals, acting as a liaison between mortgage brokers and operations staff to ensure excellent customer service, a seamless process, and acceptable response times. The Lending Officer provides quality feedback on the loan process, concerns, product needs, and general input from the broker base.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent response times and customer service levels with our network of broker contacts.
  • Possess strong knowledge of all loan products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements.
  • Monitor customer loyalty and disloyalty performance levels, ensuring timely and proactive communication, regular broker contact, and site visits to explain current and new loan products.
  • Understand the residential loan process for processing, underwriting, closing, and funding of all 1-4 family residential loans.
  • Develop and maintain high visibility and credibility for Hanover in the marketplace.
  • Actively communicate new products and promote existing products with the brokerage base.
  • Create special marketing campaigns promoting our product menu in conjunction with the Director of Sales.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three years of wholesale lending experience (required).
  • Knowledge and understanding of all State and Federal regulations applicable to residential mortgage lending, including Regulation B (ECOA), C (HMDA), G (S.A.F.E Act), X (RESPA), and Z.
  • Use of interpersonal and communication skills to interact with the public and represent the Bank at community development functions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships, market trends, and developments in the Bank’s market area.
  • Availability to customarily and regularly engage away from the Bank's facilities in making sales calls, obtaining applications, and meeting with potential borrowers.
  • Proficient in sales and service skills, including prospecting, networking, and relationship management.
  • Strong financial acumen and goal-oriented skills.
  • This position is subject to the Dodd-Frank Truth in Lending Act qualification requirements for Loan Originators and requires successful National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the S.A.F.E. Act.

Pay

$65,000.00 per year.
