Description of Work
This position supports the review and communication of legislative information that affects Department programs. Work involves research, evaluation, and coordination with staff and legislative partners.
Responsibilities
- Draft responses and research inquiries from legislative offices
- Review proposed and current legislation to determine fiscal, program, or legal impact
- Assist in drafting bills and relay information to the Governor's Legislative Office
- Track bills related to Department programs and education
- Compile legislative comments from program offices and prepare summaries
- Help maintain contact with House and Senate offices and assist with testimony preparation
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of governmental experience, including one year of work directly related to legislative analysis; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office a minimum of 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
