About the role
The University of Florida Levin College of Law seeks an experienced and dynamic leader to create, teach, and direct an Appellate Litigation Clinic.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a clinic providing individual representation of clients through court appointment in federal and Florida state appellate courts.
- Guide students in learning how to litigate appeals, develop appellate strategy, draft effective appellate briefs, and conduct oral arguments.
- Build and shape the clinic with best practices to serve students' educational needs and benefit the people of Florida and beyond.
- Participate in a new Program in Law and Government, focusing on areas such as First Amendment, state and local government issues, constitutional interpretation, and environmental law.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) and 5 years of practice or prior teaching experience in appellate practice or a related field.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills and experience in appellate practice.
- Experience guiding students in legal education and practice.
- Knowledge and interest in areas such as First Amendment, state and local government issues, constitutional interpretation, and environmental law.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
