Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare documents including correspondence, memoranda and legal documents; compose and draft routine cover letters and shell documents
- Prepare and process court and administrative agency filings, as well as maintain and review corresponding Compulaw calendaring
- Proofread documents for content and clarity and create redlines
- Provide heavy, executive-level administrative support to maintain accurate calendars for assigned attorneys, as well as client and administrative files
- Prepare and process new client and matter forms. Coordinate with accounting to prepare fee agreements, engagement letters, and vendor invoices
- Create presentations and create and work with PDFs
Qualifications
- Detail-oriented, proactive, organized and possess excellent follow-through skills
- Able to work under pressure while managing multiple deadlines/priorities
- Accuracy, speed and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment
- Demonstrated proficiency coordinating complex scheduling for multiple individuals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated understanding of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and various legal software applications (including CompuLaw preferred); experience manipulating PDFs in Adobe; experience working with a document management system; and E-filing experience
- High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of legal secretarial experience required
- At least five years of litigation experience required
- Law firm experience required
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Paralegal certificate a plus
- Experience in education law a plus

Pay
The hourly rate range the Firm reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $41.00 – $47.50. The final hourly rate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications and other job-related factors permitted by law.

The ideal candidate will consider the DWK office in Sacramento (Hybrid).
