About the role

This role focuses on recruiting lateral associates and contract attorneys for Nelson Mullins' West Coast offices. It plays a crucial part in attracting top legal talent to support the firm's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of lateral associate and contract attorney recruiting
  • Serve as a key point of contact for candidates, attorneys, and external partners
  • Draft job postings, track open positions, screen resumes, and conduct phone interviews as needed
  • Coordinate the full interview process and ensure the timely completion of all pre-hire due diligence, including new attorney questionnaires, client list reviews, verification of bar standing, reference checks, and background screenings
  • Support the offer process and maintain accurate candidate tracking and correspondence to ensure a seamless experience
  • Oversee the contract attorney process, including onboarding, timesheet management, invoicing, and partnering with external staffing agencies
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines of legal talent to meet ongoing hiring needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of legal recruiting, law firm recruiting, or attorney staffing experience
  • Experience building and maintaining talent pipelines and partnering with search firms or staffing agencies
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (such as iCIMS) and Microsoft Office

  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships while managing multiple priorities with professionalism and efficiency

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office
