Legal Practice Assistant - Investment Management
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant to support the Investment Management practice group in the Boston office. This position will report to the Manager of Legal Practice Support and offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. A two-year commitment is expected, and flexibility with overtime is required.
About the Role
This position provides a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support in a collaborative environment emphasizing exceptional client service. As part of the ML LawPath® program, Legal Practice Assistants gain practical experience and direct exposure to case teams, developing a well-rounded skill set to foster success as legal professionals.
Responsibilities
- Manage, organize, and maintain case and client files.
- Coordinate and prepare information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence.
- Assist with drafting, proofreading, editing, and gathering factual support for internal and external requests.
- Support the development and management of case and practice group work product.
- Conduct research, fact investigations, and analysis for internal and external requests.
- Coordinate communication and planning across attorney teams handling multiple client matters.
- Interface with clients and serve as a point of contact for client communications.
- Participate in supervised client communications to exchange information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Legal Practice Support, workflow coordinator, and/or attorneys.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required).
- 3.5 GPA or higher (preferred).
- One year of combined internship or professional experience (preferred).
- Two-year commitment expected.
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to think critically and see the “big picture.”
- Superior written/verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and within a team.
- Exceptional leadership and organization skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to travel and work evening hours as needed.

Pay
The salary range for this position in Boston, MA is $53,200.00 - $85,150.00. The base salary will be determined based on factors such as prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market conditions. The total compensation package may also include medical, financial, and other benefits, such as 401(k) eligibility and paid time off.
