Legal Operations Coordinator
About the role
Latitude is seeking a Legal Operations Coordinator to support the in-house litigation team of one of our corporate legal department clients, on a contract basis for 40 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on legal operations experience within a large corporate legal department, supporting the full matter lifecycle — from initial intake through document preparation, litigation support, matter closure, and billing coordination. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day workflow and matter-management processes for the employment litigation team
- Coordinate new matter openings and closings (including conflict checks and engagement letters)
- Manage and prioritize a busy legal department inbox
- Produce documents from internal systems
- Process invoices
- Organize and audit case files across multiple document management platforms
- Work closely with in-house attorneys, business partners, and outside counsel
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a legal support, legal operations, or administrative role
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work with limited supervision
- Interest in legal operations and a drive to find ways to improve processes and increase efficiency
- Comfort with technology and an ability to learn new systems quickly, including document management platforms and legal billing tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Copilot
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear emails and correspond professionally with attorneys and outside counsel
- Discretion and an appreciation for attorney-client privilege and the importance of confidentiality
- Problem-solving mindset — able to respond to unexpected changes, handle urgent requests, and find efficient solutions

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a legal department, law firm, or litigation support environment
- Familiarity with legal matter management systems, e-billing platforms, or document management tools
- Experience coordinating matter openings/closings, conflict checks, or engagement letters
- Experience producing documents from internal systems or processing legal invoices
Position Details
Type of role: Engagement (temporary)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Assignment term: Initial term of two months, then month to month
Location: Atlanta, GA — Hybrid (onsite three days per week; remote Mondays and Fridays)
Compensation
Pay: This contract position pays $35 to $40 per hour, which equates to an annualized range of approximately $70,000 to $80,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract roles is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate's preference (each candidate's pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate's competitiveness for the position).
