Legal Internship

About the role

The Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah seeks a legal intern who has completed at least the 1L year of Law School. The intern will assist with various legal tasks under the guidance of the Tribal Attorney.

Responsibilities

• Legal memoranda drafting
• Legal research
• Resolution drafting
• Contract review
• Presentations

Requirements

• Must pass a criminal and fingerprint background check according to P.L. 101-630 standards
• Must pass an alcohol/drug screening

Qualifications

• Must have completed 1L year
• Desire to work in Federal Indian Law
• Experience drafting Legal Memoranda
• Excellent Research Abilities
• Excellent Written/Oral Communication Skills

Desired Qualifications

• Previous employment experience in Federal Indian Law
• Federal Indian Law coursework or classroom experience
• Familiarity with Tribal Communities and Cultures

Hours

Minimum of 15 hours per week
