Summary
The Legal Counsel role will be responsible for providing in-house legal advice and guidance on a wide range of corporate matters, with a focus on immigration and global mobility. The Legal Counsel reports to the Sr. Legal Counsel.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and guidance to the business team and management on a variety of legal issues.
- Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of U.S. and global immigration law, including visa petitions, green cards, and naturalization.
- Manage and oversee the company's immigration program, ensuring compliance with USCIS, Department of Labor (DOL), and Department of State regulations.
- Counsel human resources and management on a wide variety of immigration-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Provide supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist the company with their specialized legal services.
- Design, build, and improve legal team processes.
- Consult and protect Qcells against legal risks, penalties, and investigations.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or an equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
- A member in good standing with a state bar association.
- 3+ years of experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Korean & English).
- Experience in the solar industry, energy sector, or manufacturing industry.
