About the role

The Billing Coordinator compiles, manages, and executes complex attorney billing across all three law departments. This client-facing role requires prioritizing tight deadlines, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task to process high-volume billing. The Coordinator communicates effectively with attorneys, assistants, and accounting colleagues while maintaining accurate records throughout the billing cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and processes billing for principal billing partners, including drafting, editing, and preparing pre-bills and final bills per attorney/client specifications and guidelines (edits may include narratives, transfers, write-downs, write-offs, divides, and combines).
  • Reviews and verifies accuracy of billing and cost backup documentation, as required.
  • Confirms rates and fee arrangements (e.g., flat fee, fixed fee, billed on account (BOA), on-demand fees) are reflected for each individual matter.
  • Generates and delivers client invoices in the requested format.
  • Manages requirements for clients who use e-billing to ensure timely completion and coordinates with the e-billing department as needed.
  • Researches and responds to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems.
  • Monitors Work in Process (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) inventory for assigned attorneys.
  • Generates billing statements and production reports as requested.
  • Ensures strict confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience billing at an hourly rate for a timekeeper in a law or professional services firm.
  • Experience with 3E preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Pay

Orlando: $58,100 to $81,300
Chicago, Dallas, & Houston: $63,900 - $89,400

The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
