Location: Bartow, FL Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview A busy and established law firm is seeking a Spanish-speaking Legal Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to its legal team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a law office or legal environment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate professionally with clients in both English and Spanish. The firm handles a variety of criminal defense and family law matters, including DUI, domestic violence, criminal charges, divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and other family and litigation-related matters. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal staff. Answer and manage incoming calls and assist clients with general inquiries. Communicate professionally with clients in English and Spanish. Schedule appointments, consultations, meetings, and other calendar activities. Prepare, organize, scan, copy, and file legal documents. Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files. Assist with correspondence, forms, notices, and other routine legal documents. Coordinate information between attorneys, clients, courts, and other parties. Assist with case-related administrative tasks and follow up on outstanding documentation. Perform general office duties and provide support to the legal team as needed. Handle confidential client and case information with professionalism and discretion. Qualifications Fluent in Spanish and English is required. Previous legal office, law firm, or legal clerical experience required. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional and courteous manner when interacting with clients. Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a busy legal environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and standard office technology. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Preferred Experience Experience in a criminal defense or family law firm is a plus. Experience communicating with Spanish-speaking clients is highly preferred. Familiarity with legal terminology, court filings, scheduling, and case files is beneficial. Prior experience supporting attorneys in a litigation-focused environment is a plus.
