Legal Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and manage no-fault collection cases through Simple File, AAA, and Modria.
• Process and respond to requests from the American Arbitration Association, insurance carriers, clients, and attorneys.
• Request, review, and track medical records, billing records, policy documents, PIP payouts, and other claim-related materials.
• Maintain calendars and follow-up systems to ensure timely retrieval of documents, case updates, hearings, and deadlines.
• Conduct quality control review of prepared cases and update file statuses in the case management system.
• Absorb and respond to client account audits, account receivable posting, and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
• Prepare rebuttal requests, follow up with clients, and assist with pre-arbitration settlements, counteroffers, and fee scheduling.
• Cook up new case assignments and support the team with case preparation and document organization.
• Establish liens for policy exhaustion cases.
• Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery demands, responses, subpoenas, affidavits, motions, and other litigation documents as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of no-fault collections experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Customer/Client oriented
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Quick learner
• Personable
