Responsibilities
- Support attorneys and legal staff with daily administrative tasks and general office coordination.
- Prepare, revise, and review legal correspondence, forms, and case-related documents for accuracy and proper formatting.
- Maintain organized physical and digital files, ensuring records are current, accessible, and properly indexed.
- Cook up calendars by arranging client appointments, tracking court appearances, and monitoring internal deadlines.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for clients, court personnel, and outside parties through phone, email, and in-person communication.
- Aid with property-related matters by assembling closing materials and coordinating documentation with involved parties.
- Contribute to litigation support by helping with discovery materials, document collection, filings, and trial preparation.
- Conduct basic legal and factual research and compile information for attorney review as needed.
Requirements
- 0+ years of experience in an administrative, legal, or office environment; internships are helpful.
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree preferred, with a strong academic record valued.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organizational abilities and careful attention to detail when handling documents and deadlines.
- Ability to balance multiple assignments effectively in a fast-paced legal setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Familiarity with court filings, e-filing, calendar coordination, or civil litigation support is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach to client interactions.
Qualifications
- Legal assistant certification is a plus but not required.
- Experience with legal software such as LexisNexis or Westlaw is beneficial.
- Knowledge of real estate, corporate, and litigation matters is advantageous.
