Legal Administrative Professional II - District Court Unit
About the role
The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Legal Administrative Professional II. This position handles a variety of legal office support tasks under general supervision, requiring the ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, process and maintain police referrals and follow-up for all non-DV misdemeanor cases.
- Responsible for a high volume of misdemeanor case management, including PbK case pre-filing, distribution and declines.
- Prepare all felony drop downs for filing.
- Work with Filing DPAs to prepare and create documents for filing with 3 courts (Seattle, Redmond, and Kent).
- Aid in daily jail calendar docketing and updating PbK.
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a timely manner.
- Assist Unit Chair, Vice Chair, and LSP supervisor as requested.
- Perform related work or other projects as requested or required.
- Attend mandatory RESJ trainings.
- Provide support for the Race, Equity and Social Justice policy and principles, and work with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.

- Show considerable knowledge of district court practices and procedures.
- Demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Show skills to have an overview of each task from beginning to end and to obtain all information needed so that necessary deadlines are met.
- Show skill to organize and maintain a complex paper flow system.
- Show skill to provide information, based on acquired job knowledge and overview, to other employees, law enforcement agencies, and the public.
- Show skill to prioritize the vast amount of work between copying, filers' needs, supervisors' projects, and mail dispersion with constant interruptions.
- Show skill to independently interpret and apply general established guidelines in the performance of daily operations.
- Show skill to work under pressure and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Show skill to express ideas and convey information effectively, orally and in writing.
- Show skill to make decisions within the scope of job duties and established guidelines.

- Show proficient knowledge of Word and Excel to create databases and programs.
- Show strong attention to detail.
