About the Role
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for Lee Assistant/Associate Professor of Insurance & Risk Management in the Lee Business School. This position is part of the Lee Scholar professorships, endowed by the Ted and Doris Lee Family. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in risk management, insurance, and finance, conducting significant research, and contributing to service activities for the department, school, university, and profession.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in risk management, insurance, and finance.
- Conduct research leading to high-quality refereed publications.
- Engage in service activities for the department, school, university, and profession.
- Potentially participate in executive education and professional certificate programs.
- Contribute to the development of the Kerestesi Center for Insurance and Risk Management.
- Mentor students and support the growth of the department’s upcoming Ph.D. program.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field from an accredited institution, obtained prior to the start date.
- For Assistant Professor: Strong potential for impactful research and teaching effectiveness.
- For Associate Professor: Established record of scholarly achievement, teaching excellence, and service contributions.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Research interests in risk management, insurance markets, insurance economics, actuarial science, or related fields.
- Ability to teach courses at multiple levels (undergraduate, graduate, and potentially Ph.D.).
- Experience or interest in engaging with industry partners, insurance professionals, or regulators.
- Potential to enhance the visibility of the department and contribute to the Kerestesi Center.
- Commitment to mentoring students and supporting the Ph.D. program.
