LECTURER- STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION
About the role
The Department of Strategic Communication at Ithaca College is seeking part-time lecturers for potential openings during the 2026-2027 academic year. Potential areas of focus include Public Relations, Event Management, Advertising, Media Planning, Visualization/Graphic Design, International Communications, and Research Methods. The department prioritizes candidates with terminal degrees (Ph.D., M.F.A., or M.B.A.) or non-terminal master’s degrees, as well as those with substantial industry experience and a strong record of successful college teaching.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Public Relations, Event Management, Advertising, Media Planning, Visualization/Graphic Design, International Communications, and Research Methods.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum within the context of an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education.
- Engage in professional preparation within the field of strategic communication.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience for students.
Requirements
- A terminal degree (Ph.D., M.F.A., or M.B.A.) or non-terminal master’s degree in a related field.
- Substantial industry experience in strategic communication.
- A record of successful college teaching.
- A commitment to professional preparation within an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education.
- A wide variety of specialties including strategic planning, account management, event/experiential marketing, art direction/graphic design, and audience/media research.

Pay
Hiring rate: $2,059.25 per credit hour.
