Lecturer - Communication

About the role

The Department of Communication at Clemson University invites applications for a full-time lecturer position to begin August 15, 2026. The position requires expertise in sports communication and the ability to teach courses in this area.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to teaching courses in sports communication (e.g., Survey of Sports Communication, Strategic Communication in Sports, Sports Media Criticism, Social Media and Sports Communication, Sport News Media, Communication and Sport Socialization, Communication in Sports Organizations).
• Engage in departmental and professional service related to the Clemson Elevate strategic plan.

Requirements

• A Master’s Degree in Communication or a closely related field (or equivalent professional experience in sports communication and media).
• Expertise in teaching sports communication courses.

Qualifications

• A record of excellent teaching and advising at the undergraduate level.
• Exemplary university and disciplinary service.
• PhD (or ABD) in Communication or a closely related field preferred.
