About the role

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering position is based in Australia. This role involves contributing to the advancement of research and education in modern computing systems, shaping the next generation of computing professionals, and conducting research in areas such as AI for Software Engineering, Software Engineering for AI, AI Application Engineering, Software Development Lifecycle, and Software Architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to high-quality research outcomes
  • Deliver engaging and innovative learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Conduct research and publish in high-impact scholarly outcomes
  • Collaborate on competitive grant applications
  • Supervise HDR students
  • Develop and improve curricula
  • Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds
  • Work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships
  • Interact with the profession and industry to attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives

Requirements

  • PhD in a related discipline, or relevant work experience
  • Proven commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments
  • Experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
  • Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence
  • Experience with industry or work-integrated learning (desirable)
  • Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives

Qualifications

  • PhD in a related discipline, or relevant work experience
  • Proven commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments
  • Experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development, and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
  • Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others
  • Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement
  • Experience with industry or work-integrated learning
  • Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership
  • Success in recruiting and supervising high calibre students
  • Experience in working in a team, collaborating across disciplines, and building effective relationships
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training

Benefits

Salary range: AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation for Lecturer (Level B) and AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation for Senior Lecturer (Level C)

Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Full-time position with a two-year convertible tenure track or continuing appointment

Pay
