Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering

About the role

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering position is based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. This role involves contributing to the advancement of research and education in modern computing systems, shaping the next generation of computing professionals, and conducting research in areas such as AI for Software Engineering, Software Engineering for AI, AI Application Engineering, Software Development Lifecycle, and Software Architectures.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to high-quality research outcomes
• Deliver engaging and innovative learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Collaborate on competitive grant applications and scholarly publications
• Develop and deliver courses and programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Implement educational technologies and online delivery methods
• Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
• Initiate curriculum development and improvement
• Supervise high-calibre students
• Work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships
• Interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives

Requirements

• Lecturer (Level B): PhD in a related discipline, proven commitment to discipline knowledge, teaching and learning design, educational technologies, teaching effectiveness, and passion for educational excellence.
• Senior Lecturer (Level C): PhD in a related discipline, proven commitment to discipline knowledge, teaching and learning design, educational technologies, teaching effectiveness, passion for educational excellence, research leadership, and supervising high-calibre students.

Qualifications

• Lecturer (Level B): Relevant work experience, experience using and/or designing with educational technologies, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and passion for educational excellence.
• Senior Lecturer (Level C): Relevant work experience, experience using and/or designing with educational technologies, evidence of teaching effectiveness, passion for educational excellence, research leadership, supervising high-calibre students, and attracting funding for learning and teaching initiatives.

Skills

• Lecturer (Level B): Proven commitment to discipline knowledge, teaching and learning design, educational technologies, teaching effectiveness, and passion for educational excellence.

• Competitive salary range: AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum for Lecturer (Level B) and AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum for Senior Lecturer (Level C) + 17% superannuation
