Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering
About the role
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering role involves contributing to the advancement of research and education in modern computing systems. You will conduct research in areas such as AI for Software Engineering, Software Engineering for AI, AI Application Engineering, Software Development Lifecycle, and Software Architectures. The position offers a full-time, 2-year convertible tenure track or continuing appointment at UNSW in Kensington, Sydney, Australia.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to high-impact scholarly outcomes, collaborative research initiatives, and the School's growing international reputation in Software Engineering.
- Deliver engaging and innovative learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and deliver courses and programs using a range of pedagogical approaches.
- Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Initiate curriculum development and improvement.
- Supervise high-caliber students and demonstrate success in securing competitive funding.
- Work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
- Interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
Requirements
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact.
- Experience in recruiting and supervising high-calibre students.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
Qualifications
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.

Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum for a Lecturer (Level B) and AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum for a Senior Lecturer (Level C) plus 17% superannuation. The position includes a 2-year convertible tenure track or continuing appointment.
