Position Summary
The instructor's teaching duties will involve but are not limited to: Developing lesson plans, course materials, and student assignments for the assigned courses. Providing classroom instruction. Assessing students' progress by grading assignments, papers, exams, and other work. Responding to students’ inquiries. Providing advice/guidance to students on their courses and career plans.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
- 2 or more years of practical experience in civil engineering or related discipline.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Evidence of integrating technology into instruction using emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to learn and use UTSA applications (e.g., Canvas).
- Willingness to work with others to develop joint courses and other educational programs.
- Ability to use AutoCad and code in Python, Mathematica or other computational tools.
- Willingness to incorporate active or experiential learning, or other evidence-based pedagogy.
