California State University San Marcos invites applications on an ongoing basis for part-time lecturer positions in the Department of Physics. This pool serves to fill short-term temporary appointments ranging from one day to a full semester, as needed throughout the academic year. Applications are valid only for the 2026/2027 academic year and will close on May 31st.
Minimum Qualifications
- A master's degree in physics or a closely related field
Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A terminal degree in physics or a closely related field
- Demonstrated commitment to actively engaging undergraduates in the classroom or laboratory through research-informed pedagogical practices
- Intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our diverse campus community in teaching and, as applicable, service
Pay
Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $6,008 per full-time month. Salary is commensurate with education and experience, generally starting at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
- Lecturer A (Academic Year): $5,507 – $6,667 per full-time month
- Lecturer B (Academic Year): $6,221 – $13,224 per full-time month
