2026-27 AY Lecturer Pool - Physics and Astronomy
About the role
The Physics and Astronomy Department in the College of Natural & Social Sciences at Cal State LA is seeking applications for a pool of part-time faculty lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-2027 academic year. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.
Responsibilities
- Instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours.
- Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must have an appropriate degree from an accredited university.
- For lower division undergraduate courses, a master's degree or doctoral degree is required.
- Consideration will be given to advanced Ph.D. students in a relevant field.
- For upper division undergraduate or graduate courses, a doctoral degree is required.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
- Relevant work experience and training.
- A doctoral degree or other appropriate terminal degree.
Salary
- Initial Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Salary ranges are provided based on the following ranges:
- Lecturer A/2 Full-time equivalent: $5,507 - $6,677
- Lecturer B/3 Full-time equivalent: $6,221 - $13,224
- Lecturer C/4 Full-time equivalent: $6,825 - $14,523
- Lecturer D/5 Full-time equivalent: $8,593 - $15,211
