About the role
The Department of Physics & Astronomy at Cal Poly Humboldt seeks passionate educators to contribute to our diverse and vibrant community. Our department offers a robust Bachelor of Science program with concentrations in Physics and Astronomy, along with a variety of general education and service courses.
Responsibilities
- Teach upper-division physics courses and/or astronomy courses to a diverse student population.
- Contribute to the academic life of the department through collaboration and mentorship.
- Participate in departmental committees and activities.
Requirements
- M.A./M.S. in Physics, Astronomy, or related field is required.
- B.A./B.S. with successful teaching experience in the field may be considered for some areas.
- Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or related field is preferred for certain areas.
Qualifications
- Passionate about teaching Physics and/or Astronomy to a diverse student population.
- Ability to teach a variety of courses including General Physics, Descriptive Astronomy, Life in the Universe, Physics of Stars and Planets, Galaxies & Cosmology, and Quantum Physics.
- Experience with electronics and electronic instrumentation is required for specific positions.

- Monthly base salaries ranging from $5,507 to $14,523, depending on qualifications and experience.
