About the role

The Department of History at Cal Poly Humboldt prepares students with the tools of the historian: critical thinking, high-tech research, project development, and excellent writing and presentation skills. Our courses cover a wide range of topics, including Western Civilization, Colonial Latin American History, History & Civilization of Rome, Modern Chinese History, and Special Topics.

Qualifications

  • Degree: Earned M.A. in History or cognate field.
  • Experience: Documented teaching effectiveness in course content and/or related professional experience.
  • PREFERRED: Earned Ph.D. or ABD in History, or related field.

Requirements

  • Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years.
  • Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must also sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.

Benefits

Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

  • Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
  • Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
  • Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
