About the role

The Department of Anthropology at Cal Poly Humboldt seeks to hire temporary faculty to teach a variety of courses in Anthropology. This includes courses in Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Sociocultural Anthropology, Linguistic Anthropology, and Cross-Disciplinary Anthropology.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Anthropology, including but not limited to ANTH 102, ANTH 103, ANTH 103L, ANTH 104, ANTH 105, ANTH 302, ANTH 305, ANTH 307, ANTH 308, ANTH 310W, ANTH 314, ANTH 316, ANTH 318, ANTH 329, ANTH 330, ANTH 331, ANTH 332, ANTH 333, ANTH 334, ANTH 339, ANTH 340, ANTH 341, ANTH 350, ANTH 351, ANTH 352, ANTH 354, ANTH 357, ANTH 358, ANTH 359, ANTH 390, ANTH 395, ANTH 410, ANTH 482, ANTH 485, ANTH 559, ANTH 618, ANTH 621, ANTH 637, ANTH 654, ANTH 670, ANTH 671, ANTH 672, ANTH 674, ANTH 676, ANTH 679, ANTH 680, ANTH 682.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Anthropology or a closely related field directly tied to the courses of interest.
• Relevant educational/research focus, professional training, or applied experience in the subdiscipline and subject matter of the courses.
• Demonstrated mastery of and focus in the specific subject matter of the course(s).

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Anthropology with a specialization in the subdiscipline of interest, or a terminal degree in a closely related field directly tied to the courses of interest.
• Successful teaching experience as demonstrated by excellent teaching evaluations, especially in the subdiscipline (and, if taught previously, in the courses) of interest.
• Demonstrated mastery of and focus in the specific subject matter of the course(s), as evaluated through factors such as previous teaching experience with excellent evaluations, educational focus, and professional-level research/training/work experience.

Benefits

Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

• Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
• Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
• Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523

Pay

Dependent on qualifications and experience.
