About the Department

The Department of Marketing offers courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Courses serve students completing Business and Marketing majors and other majors. The department has 9 tenured or tenure-track faculty and several lecturers.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more introductory and/or advanced courses in Marketing.
• Teaching assignments may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online.
• All faculty members are expected to perform all duties within the state of California.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in business or economics. Ph.D. in business or economics preferred.
• Degree from AACSB accredited institution preferred.
• Professional experience at the time of appointment that is significant in duration and level of responsibility, consistent with area of teaching responsibilities.
• With a research Ph.D. in business or economics, must have a current research record in the teaching field.
• ABDs must have completed exams in the last three years.

Pay

Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. The salary schedule for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification is as follows:

• Lecturer AY (Range 2): $5,507 - $6,677
• Lecturer AY (Range 3): $6,221 - $13,224
• Lecturer AY (Range 4): $6,825 - $14,523
• Lecturer AY (Range 5): $8,593 - $15,211

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Schedule

Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026; Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.
