Lecturer-Pool Faculty - Competency-Based Education Instruction in Criminal Justice (up to 4 positions to be filled)
About the role
Support the delivery of courses in a competency-based education (CBE) format for the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) in Criminal Justice. CBE courses are fully online and designed to allow students to progress by demonstrating mastery of clearly defined competencies. Faculty serve as instructors of record and are responsible for evaluating student work, providing timely feedback, and supporting student progression.
Responsibilities
- Serve as instructors of record for CBE courses in Criminal Justice.
- Evaluate student work and provide timely feedback.
- Support student progression through mastery of competencies.
- Teach up to 200 students across assigned courses simultaneously.
- Connect academic competencies to real-world practice, aligning with program workforce design and strong practitioner engagement.
Requirements
- Masters degree in criminal justice, criminology, or closely related field.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in criminal justice or related field.
- Strong written communication and feedback skills.
- Experience with online learning environments (e.g. Blackboard).
Other Requirements
- Experience with competency-based education or outcomes-based assessment.
- Experience working with adult learners.
- Experience with supervising, training, or mentoring professionals.
