About the role

The College of Information at the University of Maryland, College Park (INFO) invites applications for full-time, professional track (PTK) lecturers.

Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching, innovation in pedagogy, and supporting a diverse, multidisciplinary student community.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the field of information science, technology, or design.
• Developing innovative teaching methods and materials that enhance student learning outcomes.
• Engaging with students, colleagues, and the broader academic community through research, service, and professional development activities.
• Maintaining current knowledge in the field and staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies.

Requirements

Requirements include:

• A master's degree in information science, technology, or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant teaching experience at the university level.
• Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and beyond.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• Experience with online and hybrid course delivery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and a willingness to engage with students from diverse backgrounds.

Skills

Skills include:

• Proficiency in using educational technology tools and platforms.
• Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
• Ability to mentor and support graduate students.
