Lecturer of Social Work – School of Behavioral and Social Sciences (Continuous Recruitment)
Position Details
The position is open to candidates who meet the requirements and have the ability to teach on-site, partially remotely, or fully remotely.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses
- Assesses student performance
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
Department
The UWSP Department of Sociology and Social Work has 13 full-time teaching faculty and staff, approximately 165 undergraduate social work majors, and approximately 150 undergraduate sociology majors in both face-to-face and online program options. The Department also houses robust minors in Criminal Justice and Substance Use and Addiction Studies. The Department is committed to social justice and applied learning, emphasizing undergraduate research, community-based practicums, and service to the region.
Required Qualifications
- MSW/MSSW from a CSWE accredited program
- At least two years of post-master’s social work degree practice experience in social work
- Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Evidence of strong organization skills and effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching at a university level
- Experience with online teaching/learning
